Every year, a small delegation from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences visits the XLAB for four days to get to know the experimental courses offered to students. In addition to plant physiology studies, the CRISPR-Cas method and anatomical dissections were on the program. The excursion is embedded in the pedagogical training of the teacher candidates and is coordinated in Rotterdam by Tom Ansen. The 11 students were accompanied on site by their lecturer Ronald Dielemans and a colleague.
In addition to the subject-specific input, the aim for the coming year is to visit a local grammar school and to exchange ideas with the local biology didactics department at the Georg August University in Göttingen.
