ISC2025 Plastics

Production and sustainability in relation to plastics were topics that preoccupied the participants.

During the course, participants examined various methods for producing polymers and polymer composites with predictable properties. On the last day, they addressed promising opportunities and growing problems related to plastic waste. On the one hand, they detected microparticles using fluorescence staining. On the other hand, they produced modern microfiber fabrics from various waste materials.

To determine the diameter of the microfibers, participants used the scanning electron microscope (SEM) of Prof. Andreas Janshoff's research group at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Department of Biophysical Chemistry, at the University of Göttingen.
