ISC2025 Laser Physics

In addition to laser physics and its applications participants learned about the modeling of quantum physical processes.

Experiments on the fundamentals of laser physics formed the introduction to the course, followed by in-depth insights into fundamental processes in quantum physics. Participants took an active role in the mathematical modeling of the processes, the prediction of observations, and the comparison of the digital twin with the experiment they conducted themselves, developing individual solutions. The second half of the course focused on laser applications with experiments and lectures by cooperation partners from industry and science:

Dr. Ralph Delmdahl from Coherent LaserSystems GmbH & Co. KG reported on his company's fields of activity, established applications in the areas of digital communication and medicine and developments in the field of energy transformation.

In the working group of Professor Claus Ropers at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, participants were given a guided tour of three laboratories where they gained insight into current basic research using lasers in the investigation of ultrafast physical processes.
