Training in Nanochemistry

Nanocoatings in the medical field, nanorobots, nanomaterials as a source of hope for effective energy storage, but also supposedly dangerous nanoparticles in cosmetics: Nanotechnology is one of the scientific topics that not only attracts special attention among experts. The MNU Lower Saxony (state association for the promotion of STEM teaching) offered teachers a training workshop on 27.05.2024 at the Viktoria-Luise-Gymnasium in Hameln. XLAB lecturer Dr. Erhard Irmer showed the participants which experiments and materials nanochemistry can use not only to teach “nano-content”, but also to promote the repetition, application, deepening and expansion of conventional curricular content. The participants tried out selected experiments at prepared experimental stations.

The MNU - Association for the Promotion of STEM Teaching has been advocating quality and progress in mathematics and science subjects at school since 1891 by offering training courses and making educational policy contributions.
